Kanuhura Maldives

Kanuhura has quickly gained a reputation for exquisite accommodation, excellent facilities and impeccable service. Relaxation and recreation enjoy equal emphasis on this tranquil island and the superb spa appeals to both sportsperson and sunbather.

In the Maldives’ Lhaviyani Atoll, Kanuhura’s deep piled talcum sands reach right to the doorstep. The resort is home to a watersports centre for complimentary windsurfing, pedalos and canoes (limited to certain hours daily) and the dive centre offers tuition and trips to some superb dive sites.

There is the Kids club, air-conditioned squash court, floodlit tennis courts, aerobics studio and fitness centre which complement a state-of-the-art spa, with a sauna and steam room, cold plunge pools, and a broad range of Western and Oriental massages, scrubs and beauty treatments. The resort offers a variety of bars including a barefoot beachfront bar, serving cool drinks and light snacks. Also an excellent choice of restaurants ranging from themed buffet to a la carte Mediterranean cuisine.

Please note that from 1st April 2008, Sun Resorts Ltd have taken over the ownership and management of the Kanuhura Resort (formerly One & Only).

Location

Kanuhura is located on one of the islands in the northeast part of Lhaviyani Atoll, Maldives in the Indian Ocean. The resort is approximately 40 minutes by seaplane from the Hulhule Airport . The island measures approximately 1,000 metres long and 200 metres wide, with a north-south orientation.

Very little has changed since ancient mariners first sailed these seas. Just one-sixth of the country’s 1,200 islands are inhabited, mainly with peaceful fishing villages nestled among the palms. The Maldives today remains a necklace of soft sand atolls laid out on the shimmering azure waters of the Indian Ocean.
